The Public Affairs Luncheon Club was founded 94 years ago on October 19, 1932, as a non-partisan-based Women’s Luncheon Club. The group merged in November 1944 with the Non-Partisan Legislative Forum. The name was changed to The Dallas Public Affairs Luncheon Club in 1946. One of the oldest organizations of its kind in Dallas, the group is dedicated to education about, discussion of, and interest in government, elections, constitutional issues, and current public affairs and events.
The Mission of our club is to maintain an educational and non-partisan organization to encourage members to take a thoughtful, informed and active interest in the affairs and functions of government; to conduct regular meetings for the purpose of study, discussion and comment on current events in the light of history, science and experience; to provide members lectures by eminent and outstanding professional and business authorities on subjects of current importance and interest as well as historical, scientific and economic background.
One of the significant projects of the Club is to award scholarships to Dallas area students. The scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding college bound, high school senior in the Dallas area based on merit and this scholarship program serves as a bridge between The Dallas Public Affairs Luncheon Club and young people who share our values of community involvement and commitment.
We cordially invite you to make a reservation to visit one of our monthly luncheon meetings. We believe the organization has value to those interested in learning about our city, state, and nation as well as staying abreast of current civic news and affairs.
The luncheon meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, October through May, at The Park City Club, 5956 Sherry Lane, 17th Floor, Dallas, Texas, 75225.
